Lessons From The Turtle

A famous story: A rabbit once challenged a turtle to a race. The turtle accepted. The race began. The rabbit was so confident in his speed he slacked off for a while and took a nap. The turtle kept moving, step by step without stopping. The turtle won the race. When it comes to the race set before us, we're to be turtles. In the Book of Hebrews we are told to run the race, not with speed like the rabbit, but with endurance like the turtle. One of the most overlooked secrets of success in God is the quality of perseverance. There are many who make impressive starts, they go all out for God for a season, and then they crash. They never really committed to perseverance, their faith was never grounded. If you want to win the race, be like the turtle. Run the race set before you with endurance and with perseverance. Be consistent. Be faithful daily, in prayer, in the Word, in righteousness and in fellowship. Be consistent and steady, day in and day out, and step by step; in due time, you'll win the good race. rn
