The Time Of The Fig Tree

Friday, June 19, 2020

The sacred Hebrew Biblical year ends around the month of September and October, the end of summer, the beginning of autumn. This is also the time of the fig harvest. In the New Testament, we read about a fig tree that doesn't bear its fruit, because it wasn't the time. The fig tree is one of the symbols used in the Bible for the nation of Israel. The fig tree didn't blossom at Messiah's first coming, but it will blossom at His second. For the fig tree always has its full blossoming in the autumn. And the autumn, the time of Trumpets and Tabernacles, symbolizes the end of the age. The rebirth of Israel, and the return of the Jewish people to Messiah even now, is a sign that the time of the fig tree is near. And it teaches us this: even for those who seem farthest from receiving God, there's hope. And even in the most hopeless situation, all things are possible. Believe the power of God over any hopeless thing, for even the fig tree will blossom in its appointed time.
