Three Men And A Cup

There was a king who wanted his daughter to be married. There were three suitors to whom he gave a test. They had to carry a full cup of water across the throne room to the king without spilling a drop. The first contender was booed by the crowd and spilled his water. The second was cheered, but also spilled his water. The third man was booed and cheered but he carried the cup to the king without spilling a drop. When asked how he did what the others could not, He answered, "The first man heard the booing of the crowd and lost his confidence. The second, heard the praise of the crowd and became careless. So, I resolved not to listen to the crowd's jeering or applause and set all my attention on fulfilling the king's task given to me and I won the prize." Here's an important life lesson: don't be intimidated by the discouragements of men. Don't seek their approval or applause. Instead, seek only to please the Lord your King, to obey His will, and in doing this, you will finish your race with victory.rn
