The Days of Nectar

When a honey bee is young, it stays in the hive while other bees bring back the nectar. As it matures, it must leave the hive and seek the nectar for itself, at the source. This reveals something important about spiritual growth. When you're young in the Lord, you receive much of your spiritual teaching from others. This is good. However, growing spiritually means you have to start going out and getting the nectar from the source. It means you have to start dealing with the Word for yourself, the Lord for yourself - less second hand and more first hand. Spiritual growth is about getting closer to the source. Move from the outer courts to the Holy Place and finally to the Holy of Holies. Don't be concerned about the secondary things about God, but be dwelling with God Himself. Learn from the bees. Receive the nectar of His Word, His love, and His grace directly from Him, for yourself, and from His presence. Your growth in the Lord is linked to this one thing. So from here on in, go right to the Source!rn
