Let Him Kiss Me

Thursday, December 2, 2021

The Song of Solomon opens with a sacred love song of Holy Scripture, "Let Him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth." There's no question that this is a romantic book. It should be - for we have a romantic faith. The Song of Solomon has been seen as a love-picture of God and humanity. God, the Bridegroom and humanity, the bride. "Let Him kiss me." We are sometimes squeamish about saying such things in the same breath while speaking of God, but that's the point. Your relationship with God must be the deepest, most intimate, joyous, and romantic aspect of your life. God will not be a rejected lover! Instead, we fail by making our love-walk with God a ritual. It becomes a dead marriage with no romance, no kissing. Amazingly, the New Testament uses the word, "pros-ku-neh-o" for worship. It literally means, "to kiss." If you're part of a marriage with God, then you need the kiss of God's love. Get the romance back into your marriage with God by getting alone with Him and let Him kiss you with the kisses of His love! rn
