The Former Lusts

1 Peter 1: 14 says, "Do not be conformed to the former lusts..." That says a lot. When you give in to lust, it's not the end of it. You become conformed to it. You become what you give in to. You don't just desire something - you yield yourself to it. If you submit to what is lower than you, you become lower. If you submit to what is higher, you become higher. You become what you give in to. If you give in to lust, you become conformed or like that lust. It starts molding your life and your thoughts. If you give in to anger, you become conformed to anger. If you give in to fear, you become conformed to fear and it affects all parts of your life. There is also good news because if you give in to righteousness, you'll become conformed to righteousness. Give-in to holiness and you'll become conformed to holiness. Yield to integrity, prayer and to Messiah. Then you'll be conformed to those things and to Him. Give in to Him and soon enough, sure enough, you will be conformed to His image. rn
