When the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, the false prophet Balaam tried to prophesy against them - but he couldn't. He ended up prophesying of Messiah saying, "I see him, but not now. I behold him, but not near." It's a famous Messianic prophecy, "I see him, but not now..." What does that mean? If you see him, when are you seeing him? If not now, then when are you seeing Him. Which is it? That's the point. Balaam had a vision, but he didn't truly know salvation. He saw Him, but not now. That's the way most people see Messiah. They see him, but not now. They behold him, but not near. They see Jesus as something that happened years ago, ages ago. He's far away - not here and now in real true life. You can never really see Him, if not now. You can never really behold Him, if not near. See Him not as not now, but see Him today as- now. Messiah will never touch your life THEN and THERE, He will transform it only HERE and NOW. rn
