The Peanut Butter Easter Egg

I remember walking through the supermarket and seeing chocolate peanut butter Easter egg candy cups. I pondered this. We turned the miracle of Messiah's resurrection from the dead into Easter. Easter brought us the Easter bunny, then Easter eggs, then chocolate Easter eggs, and now chocolate peanut butter Easter egg candy cups. We traded the wonder and celebration of the empty tomb for a peanut butter cup. It just shows us how easily we lose the purpose, the center, and the reason for everything. It happens with Resurrection Day and it happens in our walk. As believers, we start out by knowing the Lord and finding our greatest joys in Messiah. But as time goes on we often lose that, getting sidetracked in side issues. But the power is in getting back to the center and the reason. So set your heart on that - centering everything on Him, getting back to the center - because the alternative is losing the resurrection for a chocolate peanut butter cup.rn
