God's Unlikely Angels

Gabriel appeared to the priest Zechariah to announce the birth of a baby. It was an angelic event for a second reason. The baby was John the Baptist. In Greek and in Hebrew prophecy, John is called, an angel. John was also an angel because the word "messenger" means "angel" and John was the messenger for Messiah. But John was not your typical messenger angel. He was hairy and kind of scary. He ate locusts dipped in wild honeyn and he was also blunt. His shouting convicted people of their sins God has different kinds of angels, even unlikely angels like John and you're to be one of them. If you're born again you're to be God's unlikely angel. You might be rough, blunt, hairy, or scary but the key thing is are you living as His messenger, for the Gospel, on mission? Live that way. Let your life be a mission for His purposes - a heavenly messenger - an angel on mission - and your life will be a heavenly one - even an angelic one! rn
