Messiah is the Ultimate Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement Sacrifice. On Yom Kippur, the high priest had to agree with God that there was a need for atonement in the first place. So you too need to agree with God that you need to have peace with Him, and for that, you need to be cleansed. Second, on Yom Kippur, the priest made his way behind the veil. So Yom Kippur is about breaking through separations. So once you lift up your sins to God and receive His forgiveness, push through any and every separation and draw near to God. You have been saved to press through the barrier and enter behind the veil. Finally, the holiest day of the year ended with the high priest releasing the scapegoat and washing his clothes. Reconciliation with God is to end with release. Your sins are gone. They are not yours anymore. Release them from your memory. The guilt does not belong to you anymore. Release it to Him. Let it go and have your peace with God. For this is the Yom Kippur Way.
