Prisoners And Ambassadors

Monday, October 4, 2021

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul gives himself a strange title; he calls himself, "An ambassador in chains." He was writing from prison with chains on his wrists. But he doesn't call himself chained or even a chained ambassador. He's an ambassador in chains which is very different. Notice, a person chained is limited and cannot move. But an ambassador is the opposite - someone who is sent and goes forth. Paul is saying something very profound here that can change your life. What he's saying is this - He will not be defined by his situation, by his chains. He was not a prisoner of this world - but an ambassador to this world. He only happened to be in chains and they weren't going to stop him from sharing the Gospel and fulfilling his mission - he was unbound. Let's learn from Paul. Don't let yourself be defined by your circumstances or limitations. You may have problems but you're not a problem person. You may have some troubles but you're not a troubled person. You're a child of God. You're an ambassador of the Most-High - and you're free! Forget the chains! You're an ambassador for God.

Today's Mission

Look at your circumstances and limitations and refuse to be bound by them; be free in God. Live not OF them - live now to them.
