What It Means To Prepare The Way

What is known as Rosh Hashanah is really the biblical Day of the Trumpet. It's the day when the shofar is blown continuously. What does it mean? The shofar is sounded as a herald, to prepare the way. It is written in Isaiah 40, "Prepare the way of the Lord." So you too are called to prepare a way for the Lord. The way of the Lord is a straight path. So anything in your life that is not straight, not consistent, not lining up with the Lord's will - anything that is crooked and wavering - get it out of your life. The Scripture doesn't say to prepare a spot for the Lord - but a way. A way is something that continues. So the way to see the power and moving of God, is to live continually in His will - that's where the power is. Live continually in the way of love, the way of hope, the way of righteousness, the way of the Spirit, and the way of goodness. Prepare Him a way- and He will come.
