Hebrews 5:1 says, "For every high priest is taken from among men." The Levites were taken from among Israel and the priests, or kohanim, were taken from among the Levites. Each priest was separated. That was key to their calling. The word holy, kadosh in Hebrew, implies being separated. The Bible says if you're born again you're now a priest. That means you're also taken from among men and separated. If you want to fulfill your calling, you have to be separated, not so much from specific people, though it can mean that, but from sin, the world, from carnality and the flesh. A priest could only fulfill his calling by separating himself to the Lord. You are now the priest of God. The word for church in the Bible, ecclesia, means the called out ones. Fulfill your calling! Separate yourself from the world and from sin - make sure you work at it. Take yourself from among men that you may enter the presence of God. You're called to be holy, kadosh, separated, not mingled with the world and its sin - a priest unto God taken from among men.rn
