The Palm Sunday Chaos

Our images of Palm Sunday may involve people dressing up in their best outfits, wearing ties, nice clothes, and beautiful hats. They come to church, take a palm branch, and celebrate in a nice, orderly service. But the real Palm Sunday was much different. First, no one had Palm Sunday clothes and most everyone was dressed in a sheet. No Jew had a Palm Sunday hat and nobody was handing-out palm branches. There was no order of service. No one's plan went the way they planned it - except God's. The fact is, Palm Sunday was a day of COMMOTION - it was wild! It didn't fit into anyone's order. God was coming. It was a surprise, not in the schedule, not in the plan. God doesn't try to fit into our schedules or plans. Christianity is often so ordered, boxed-in, neat, and in man's control so that it leaves no room for God and His plans. Don't try to fit God into your schedule or plans, fit your schedule or plans into God. God is not neat in the way we see neatness. No, He's surprising, overwhelming, amazing, and wild!rn
