Baalam's Paradox

Balaam tried to prophesy against the Israelites in the wilderness, but he failed. He even prophesied about Messiah, saying, "I see him, but not now. I behold him, but not near. There shall come forth a Star out of Jacob and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel..." The prophecy ultimately speaks of Messiah. Did you ever think about how strange it is. "I see Him, but not now." It's a paradox. How can you see Him if you're not seeing Him now? Balaam had a vision but he didn't know salvation so his vision was seen, but the truth of it was not now. Unfortunately, that's how most people see Messiah. They see him, but not now. They behold him, but not near. They see Messiah in the miracles of the Bible for then but not for now. The same Messiah who was here and now in the Bible is the One who is here and now for you today. Messiah will never touch your life then and there - He will transform your life here and now.
