There was a young man named Vasilescu, a criminal in Romania, whom the Communists put in charge of torturing ministers imprisoned for their faith. But the communists turned against Vasilescu and put him in prison and tortured him as well until he was near death. At the same time Vasilescu was dying, one of his worst victims, a minister named Iscu, was also dying. Now Vasilescu was filled with remorse. He asked Iscu to pray for him because he wanted forgiveness. Unable to walk, Minister Iscu had two other prisoners carry him to Vasilescu's death bed where he prayed for his torturer. "If Messiah could forgive me," said Iscu, " then I must forgive you. If I can forgive you, then Messiah who is greater than me also forgives you." That night, the two, the torturer and the tortured, left this world together, and entered into eternal life. If this one, who was tortured unto death, could forgive his torturer, how much more can you forgive that one and anyone who has sinned against you. rn
