Attempt and Expect

The greatest challenge in the history of our ministry was acquiring, renovating and opening-up a new building that was ten times the size of our former building. Although the prospect of a much larger building was over our heads, we moved forward in faith and the leading of God. Around that time, I was reading about a man named William Carey who was an ordinary layperson who carried a burden for India. People told him it was impossible to fulfill but he ignored their criticism and launched what became modern missions to India and it was greatly successful. Carey's favorite quote was, "Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God." When the prospect of this gigantic building was upon us, I received a letter with that same quote and my faith to see the new building through skyrocketed. Everyday people worked on this building with diligence, faith, and perseverance, by God's power, it all came together. Great faith will produce great works, and God's power will see it through. rn
