The Oil of the Maidens

Messiah told His followers the Parable of the Ten Virgins. The parable was based on the ancient Hebrew Jewish wedding. The ten virgins were waiting and had to keep oil in their lamps because nobody knew exactly what time the groom would appear. Five virgins weren't prepared and their oil ran out by the time the groom arrived. There's an important principle here linked to the end times and to the coming of Messiah. We must be like the good virgins, the faithful ones, who kept oil in their lamps. It's crucial for you to keep the light of faith glowing and not to let it fade or go out. It's easy for your light to go out. How? Through carelessness, through distractions, money, through being overly busy to the exclusion of God and in many other ways. How do you avoid this? Get away from the distractions. Refill your oil in prayer, by the presence of God, in the Word, and through rejoicing in Him. Refill your oil today and every day, and your light will shine bright through the end times.
