The Other Side & Secret of Blessing

In the Book of Acts, the Apostles told a crippled man to rise up and walk, and he got up and walked. It sounds so simple, but this episode from Acts is teaching us a profound and crucial truth. We tend to think of blessings as something that just happens. We pray and wait for God to bless us. Jacob wanted his father's blessing and did everything to get it, even practicing deceit. He went about it all wrong. And yet, a truth exists in what Jacob did; blessing is not a one-way street. You have a part. You have to receive it. If you're not blessed, it isn't that God is not blessing. The problem isn't on God's end, but on yours. So, it wasn't enough for the crippled man to have been blessed; he had to truly receive the blessing then rise up in faith and walk. God is blessing you - You're blessed. But you have to receive it.
