Thanksgiving With No Pilgrims

On July 4th, fireworks are sent up into the nighttime sky in celebration of America's independence. But imagine if there weren't fireworks and no nation, no America. Now consider the Jewish people and their nation. For two thousand years they've given thanks to God for harvests that never existed, for Passover lambs that are no more, and for a Temple that's nowhere to be seen. It would be like celebrating a Fourth of July with no America, a Thanksgiving with no Pilgrims, a birthday with no birth. But God has called us to do just that - to celebrate the victory before we see it - to celebrate the answer to our prayer before we have it - to celebrate Heaven before we enter it. When you have no reason to celebrate, give thanks and celebrate anyway and God will give all the reasons you need to celebrate!
