Breaking the Ishmael Spirit

The Arab-Israeli conflict goes back to the first book of the Bible, Genesis, where Abraham had a child by Hagar, his maid. The child's name was Ishmael. Later, Abraham had a son named Isaac with his wife, Sarah. Ishmael fell out of favor with his father, Abraham, and his relationship was cut off. Can you imagine the resentment, bitterness, and envy Ishmael felt against Isaac all his life? From Ishmael came the Arabs, Mohammed, and Islam. From Isaac came Israel, the Jews, the Bible, and Messiah, Yeshua. To this day, most of the children of Ishmael live in resentment and hatred against the children of Isaac and it all goes back to the tents of Abraham. Ishmael teaches us a valuable lesson: Without the blessing of God, you end up living with bitterness, restlessness, rage, and fear, always trying to prove yourself. If you give it all to God and receive His love that has been poured out into your life, you'll find it's more love than you could've ever known any other way. God has called you to live a blessed life, and not to walk in the way of Ishmael.
