We live in a culture of convenience. In days past to eat, you might have to kill a chicken. Now you can drive up to a window and the chicken comes in a paper bag with fries and a Coke. Too much trouble to turn on the television? Use the remote control. Too much trouble to turn off the lights? Clap your hands! As servants of God, we must be averse to laziness. Proverbs 15 says "The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, but the way of the upright (or the righteous) is a highway." That means that the lazy are not righteous and the righteous are not lazy. The righteous are zealous for God, zealous in prayer, zealous in the Word, zealous in good deeds. They are active, diligent, and blessed, The lazy are not. Are you experiencing the blessings God promised in His word? Are you setting your heart to become diligent in prayer, in ministry, in the Word, in love and in all things? If so, you will be blessed. For the blessings of the Lord are for the diligent, not the lazy.
