The Well-Oiled Lampstand

Several decades ago, Israel was born again as a nation. The national symbol for Israel is the Menorah. You'll see it in front of Israel's building of parliament and on every national seal. Israel's symbol is the seven-branched lampstand described in the Book of Exodus, the lamp that stood in the Holy Place, filled with oil, and always burning. Why? Because Israel is called to be a light to the nations, a holy vessel, filled with God's oil, and shining with His light, the light of His presence and salvation. What does this have to do with you? Everything! Jewish or not, Israel is your nation because the Word of God says that you are a fellow citizen of Israel. If you're part of Israel then your national symbol is the Menorah, the holy lampstand. Why? Because God's nation is called to be a light to the world and every citizen of this holy nation is to be that light. You're His holy lamp. So get filled today and refilled tomorrow with the oil of the Holy Spirit, shine your light, and light up the world!
