Laurel Leaves and Parchments

On the steep lower slope of Mt. Parnassus overlooking the Corinthian Gulf stood the Temple of Apollo. In the rear of the temple was the Oracle of Delphi. She would drink from a consecrated spring, chew on laurel leaves, then enter an abnormal state and speak in unintelligible rantings. People would come from all over the ancient world seeking divine counsel from her. But we have something greater than the Oracle of Delphi. We have the living oracles of God, the Scriptures. The Bible is filled with the oracles of Heaven. Every verse is filled with divine wisdom. God's Word has everything you need to give you the guidance of Heaven and to help you find God's will for your life - to marry the right one, to find success, peace, joy to be victorious, whatever you need. You don't have to travel thousands of miles to find some stoned out-of-her-mind snake lady in mid-life crisis to tell you something that is worth nothing. You have the very oracles of the living God right in your home, right at your fingertips. All you have to do is open and read it.
