Messiah With No Words

Pilate asked Jesus, "What is truth?" In my philosophy class, I remember my teacher saying that Jesus responded by walking away from Pilate. Of course, He didn't walk away; He didn't answer, though. He just stood there. Why didn't He answer? He did answer - He answered by standing there. Truth is not an explanation, a bunch of words, or ideas. Truth is reality. Truth is Him. To speak words would have taken away from Him. Truth is not summed up in something He said. Truth is Him. Even as believers we often miss the truth, mistaking it for words, doctrines and songs. These may all be good - but are still not Him. When Messiah was asked, "What is truth," He stood there, silently. As believers we are often like Pilate, missing the truth standing right there in our midst. So, it is written, "Be still and know that I am God." So be still, come back to the truth - not to, what's about the truth, but the truth itself, the truth Himself. Then you will find Him standing next to you without words, the Truth and nothing but the Truth.
