A father related an incident involving his young daughter. There was a picture of Messiah on a wall in his home that was directly in line with a mirror. If you stood in a certain spot, the Lord's picture would be blocked out. One day, the man's daughter stood in front of the mirror in line with the picture. When she moved away, the picture re-emerged. "Daddy," said the girl, "I can't see Jesus when I'm looking at myself." The little girl discovered something profound. The biggest obstacles to seeing God is not the devil, not your problems, not your enemies, or not your temptations - it's you. What are you focusing on -- the Lord or yourself? His interests or yours? His glory or yours? His reputation or yours? His purposes or yours? His will or yours? When you dwell on yourself, you can't see the Lord. Paul wrote, "It is not I who live, but Messiah who lives in me." It's all about Him. Forget about yourself so you can truly see Him. For as the little girl discovered - when you focus on yourself, you can't see Jesus.

Seek today to not dwell on yourself, but as if you weren't there. Seek Him, focus on Him, and do everything for His will and glory.
