In the first century, a little Jewish boy is born in the city of Tarsus, in Asia Minor. He goes to a synagogue school while also learning a trade. He's brilliant, so his parents send him to Jerusalem to sit at the feet of one of the most renowned teachers of the Jewish world. Who is he? Saul of Tarsus. Undoubtedly, he would have become one of the greatest rabbis of his time, a sage of Israel. Yet he would later write, "I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Messiah Yeshua, Jesus, my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Messiah." Rabbi Saul gave up everything, the promise of wealth, money, career, marriage, status, and prestige, for the surpassing value of knowing Messiah. If Saul could offer up all that, how much more can you offer what you need to offer up as your sacrifice to God? And if Saul was totally blessed beyond his dreams, how much more will you be blessed beyond your dreams, once you give all things for Messiah?

Today, think about what the Lord is asking you to give up. Do it and do it joyfully as your offering of love to your Beloved.
