Hebrews 2:6 says, "There is a place where someone had testified, 'What is man that you are mindful of him or the Son of Man that you care for him?'" The place was Psalm 8 and that someone was David. So why is David not mentioned in Hebrews? Because it doesn't matter. It's not about who said it. It's about God. It's not about who wrote the Psalm, it's about Whom the Psalm is about. The writer of Hebrews makes no mention of the name - but on top of that, we don't know who the writer of Hebrews is in the first place. It's not about the pastor, it's not about the preacher, it's not about you, it's about Him. We have to become the same way. Get yourself out of the way and you will glorify God. Get your ego, bitterness, grudges, offenses and self-centeredness out of the way. How do you do that? By focusing on God. And when you focus on God, you won't focus on yourself. So it may be said of you and your life, "praise to God that there is a place where somebody has testified of God."
