The Power of a Worn-Out Bible

Henry Stanley, an English journalist, set out to find Scottish missionary, David Livingston in the jungles of Africa. Before leaving, he asked his friend to lend him his badly worn and stained Bible. During the journey, Stanley encountered an African king named Mataso who wanted to know about angels. Stanley replied, "I have a book with me and it will tell you better - not only what angels are but about God and His Son." "Go fetch it now," said the king "We will wait." Stanley got the Bible and read him, the Book of Revelation and Ezekiel. After some time, he said farewell to the king and left. But before long, the king sent a runner after him, saying, "The Book! Mataso wants the book." From that one Bible, a spiritual revolution came to the land that would become Uganda. The pages of that Bible were stained and worn, but the Word of God never fades. The Bible can change the history of a land... how much more, if you apply it, will it change the history of your life?
