They Get Paid To Read The Bible

In Israel there are people known as the Haredeem, religious Jews who spend all their time studying the Bible and the writings of the Rabbis. They don't have to work or serve in the military. The government of Israel subsidizes their living expenses for their service of study. God told Israel to treasure His Word, to bind it on their arms and on their foreheads, to post it on the door posts of their houses, and to speak about it all the time. If you're born again, you're a spiritual Israelite. And a spiritual Israelite has to immerse him or herself in the Word. Israel pays people to study the Word - it costs them. What does it cost you to be in the Word, besides a little bit of time? Cherish the Word, even sacrifice for it. Bind it to your forehead - your thoughts. Bind it to your arm - your actions. Bind it to your door - your home life. The Word is crucial to Israel and to you. You've got to be at least as zealous for the scripture as the Haredeem.
