The Righteous Highway

Proverbs 15:19 says, "the path of the upright is a highway." The Hebrew word can be rendered highway or turnpike. Why is that? Because when you live in sin, the way is complicated. The road is crooked and filled with obstructions. You travel burdened down, divided, with conflict, guilt, instability, and hindrance. It's the opposite of a highway. A highway isn't crooked, but straight. It's not burdened down, but light. It's not back and forth, but consistent. When you're in the center of God's will, you're on a highway. You can floor the pedal and not even have to worry about being pulled over. The way of the righteous isn't just a road, it's a highway to take you straight, far, and fast. It will take you to where God wants you to go, to the goal of your calling, faster than any other way. So don't take the side road, or the crooked way. Take the road of the righteous, the straight, the direct, and the quickest way - the highway!
