Use Your Talenton

Why do we say people have talent? It's because of Messiah. 
The word talent comes from the Greek word talenton which was an ancient measure of money. It became the word we use for someone's gifts or abilities. The link actually points to Messiah's parable. The parable speaks of men entrusted with talents, or talentons, by their master. Some used them to invest and multiply their master's possessions. But another hid the talenton given to him and was rebuked. Every time you hear the word talent, it's pointing you to the parable of Messiah reminding you that it's not so much about being "talented" or "gifted", but what you do with what the Lord has given you. All your gifts and talents are on loan to be used for His glory. Use what you have for God and it will increase. Sow your talent and give it away - use it for the kingdom, to spread the Gospel and to bless the needy. That talent you have is not just a gift, it's a talenton - something God entrusted you with to give for His glory.rn
