Messiah's Alternate Answer

At the very opening of the Book of Acts and the very end of Messiah's ministry on earth, the disciples asked Messiah, "Lord, is it at this time you are going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" It was a perfectly natural question. He was the Messiah and the Messiah was to restore the kingdom to Israel. But they wanted to know when. He answered, "It isn't for you to know the time or date the Father has, by His own authority set. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses...to the ends of the earth." He upheld the premise; God would restore the kingdom to Israel, but He didn't answer the question. The Lord was telling His disciples something very important. You don't have to understand how or when God is going to do what He's going to do, just live by the Spirit. For better than knowing how and when everything is going to happen, is to walk in the Spirit. Walk and live in the Spirit now and you'll end up fulfilling all God has called you to do. Take care of the mission and He'll take care of the kingdom.
