Paul the apostle was in prayer in the holy city, Jerusalem. The Lord spoke to him, saying, "Get out of Jerusalem and hurry up..." Jerusalem is the most sacred of places on earth and Paul undoubtedly wanted to stay there where the action was, where Messiah ministered, and where the apostles were. It didn't seem logical for God to take him out of there, yet the Lord sent him out of Jerusalem for a purpose - to give him something much greater - the world, the harvest, the Great Commission, and the nations. It's said that when God closes a door, He opens a window. But it's also true that in the end, it's usually the window that turns out to be bigger than the door it replaced. Paul would have loved to have stayed and ministered in Jerusalem, but God had a window so much greater. So with you, when the door closes, don't despair. God's way is always greater than our plans. Rejoice and be glad for all the closed doors in your life, because in God, the window is bigger.

Today, shift your focus towards the window that the Lord is about to open, rather than dwelling on those doors that have been shut.
