In Isaiah 44:26, the Lord says to the cities of Judah, "You shall be rebuilt, and I will raise up the ruins." The prophets of Israel prophesied over 2,000 years ago that God would bring the Jewish people back to the land of Israel. Their prophecies came true in 1948 when Israel was reborn and the Jewish people came back to their homeland and rebuilt the ancient ruins. God could have done away with Israel. When you love something and it breaks, you don't throw it away, you repair it. So God didn't throw away His land or His people, He rebuilt them. God's Promised Land is built on ruins. So, too, God has not chosen to abandon this world or to forsake you, but to rebuild it - and to rebuild you. Redemption is not about abandoning the broken but rebuilding them. So don't run away from what is broken in others or in your own life, repair what is broken and rebuild the ancient ruins and God will rebuild you. For it is on the ruins of the Promised Land that the Kingdom of God was built - and so too your life.
