The Fisherman's Heavenly Book

Until Messiah, Simon Peter's life could be summed up with one word - fish. He was a simple Galilean fisherman, but when he wrote the Letter of Peter, his words were filled with the knowledge of heaven. It says in 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who call you out of darkness into His marvelous light..." What kind of fisherman can write such majestic words? How did Peter produce such a thing? He didn't - God did. Peter's writing is proof of God's plan to make a simple fisherman's life into a majestic one. Peter had many discouragements and opportunities to return to his simple life as a fisherman, but because he kept pressing on in God, he wrote a book that had nothing to do with fish - but rather heavenly life. God will do the same for you. Follow Him and He will take the common and lowly of your life and turn them into something heavenly.
