Shaba And The Day Of The Charge

Most believers don't realize that Pentecost was first a Hebrew holiday, before it was known as a Christian one. Pentecost is simply a Greek way of saying the Hebrew Feast of Shavuot. In the Song of Solomon 8:4, the Bride says, "I charge you daughters of Jerusalem..." The word charge in Hebrew is shaba. From shaba comes the word Shavuot the Hebrew name for Pentecost. So Pentecost is also called to be the day of the charging. When God gave the Spirit, He was giving us a charge of entrustment, responsibility and to live a Spirit-filled life. So, too, you are charged to live an anointed life with promise - a life of power and authority. The Spirit in your life is a sign of God's commitment to you and by the Spirit you are called and anointed to live a life of your commitment to God. The Lord has charged you, by the Spirit, to live a life of victory, praise, joy, and triumph. You have the power. Now go out and live a life worthy of one who has so been charged.
