Messiah began His ministry in Nazareth by reading from Isaiah 61. He said, "...to proclaim liberty to those who are bound, and to open the eyes of the blind..." Critics charge that in the original Hebrew of Isaiah 61, the blessing that Messiah mentioned is missing - and so they charge that the Bible is inconsistent. There are several reasons for this - including the translation of one of the Hebrew words in Isaiah that can speak of more than one blessing - as well as the evidence of ancient texts. But here's the question: Why is an extra blessing a problem? The critics would rather attack God's word over an added blessing than be blessed to receive it. It doesn't matter whether it makes sense to us. Are you having a hard time accepting God's extra blessings of grace and love, of forgiveness and acceptance? Are you having a hard time because you don't feel worthy of His love, or that you're a holy, royal, and beloved child of God? Stop struggling with it. It doesn't have to make sense. Just accept it. It's not a problem, it's just an extra blessing.

Stop struggling with God's blessings of grace and love. It doesn't have to make sense. The more it doesn't make sense, the better. Just accept it - and be blessed!
