The Romance of Your Marriage with God

Too often, after a while, married people begin going through the motions. They don't have the excitement that they once had or they take each other for granted. But marriage needs romance. Get out of the rut and go out on a date with your spouse, have special time together, do things that you normally don't do. Put the romance back into your marriage! Whether you're married or single, there's another type of marriage - you're married to and in covenant with God. He's the Bridegroom and you're the bride. Just like with earthly marriages, the problem is that we often lose the wonder, the mystery, and the joy of it. We take our salvation for granted. We don't have that excitement as when we first came to Him. We need to get back to the romance of God. We need to break out of our spiritual routine and take some special time alone with Him. The greatest marriage you have is with the Lord. Get back to the romance of Him, because God is your everlasting Bridegroom and you are His bride!
