In the book of Ephesians, Paul tells the believers to "put on the armor of God." The Ephesians had myths about heroes such as Perseus, son of Zeus using divine armor. He had winged sandals so that he could fly, a helmet of Hades which gave him invisibility, a curved sword to slay monsters, and a shield to come against Medusa. The Greeks even named a constellation after this story. It's all based on a hero with armor, but it's all a myth. What Paul speaks about in Ephesians is not a myth. It's real, not from the gods, but from God Himself - the girding of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the sandals of the Gospel, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit. If you're a believer, then you're to fight the good fight and be a hero and bring salvation. But it's not about your strength, it's about the power and the armor of God! It all begins when you gird yourself and put on that armor of the hero.
