Most Christians think of Sunday as a weekend day, a day of rest and escape from the issues of daily life. What has resulted is an artificial divide between Sunday and the rest of the week, our faith and our daily lives. But Biblically and in Hebrew culture that's not what Sunday is about at all. In the Biblical and Hebrew reckoning, Sunday is not part of the weekend, it's the first day of the week. Sunday morning is the Hebrew equivalent of Monday morning. So Messiah didn't rise on the weekend, He rose at the beginning of the work week. Therefore, the resurrection doesn't exist in a realm separate from daily life, but is a redemption of it. It's the event that is to come into and transform every part of your real, daily life - your work, your home, your errands, your everything. So this week, let the power of the resurrection start touching every part of your life. For Messiah rose on what is the Hebrew Monday morning - not to escape from real life, but to transform it!
