The Sabbath Finish

Throughout the ages, Jewish people have kept the Sabbath, the day of rest on which all labor must cease. According to the Jewish calendar, the Sabbath begins at sundown on Friday and lasts until sundown on Saturday. Messiah died on Calvary just before sundown on Friday. Why? Because He had to finish His labor, the work of redemption before the fall of the Sabbath. So as He died, He said, "It is finished." Thus, His last act was to fulfill the Law by observing the Sabbath command and entering into His rest. Herein lies something awesome. It reveals that Messiah died so that you too could enter into the Sabbath and into true rest, peace, fulfillment, and completion. But it also reveals that in order to enter in, just as Messiah had to, you must be finished with your old life, sins, and guilt. The Sabbath is waiting. So whatever has to be done in your life, say "It is finished."
