The End of Nero and Paul

Tuesday, March 2, 2021

In the Roman Empire, there were many people seeking pleasure. They were called hedonists. They would gorge themselves, then make themselves throw up, then eat more. One of these was the emperor Nero. But there was another type of people in the Roman Empire - disciples - people of discipline, sacrifice, and self-discipline, those who put God ahead of everything else. The disciples didn't live to seek pleasure - they put pleasure on the back seat for the sake of righteousness as exemplified by Paul. Nero ended up killing himself, but Paul ended up rejoicing at the end of his life. It's a paradox. In studies conducted by scientists, it was revealed that those who lived to seek pleasure were most likely to end up unhappy. So don't live your life in pursuit of pleasure. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. Live for Messiah with purpose, aim, and discipline. Live as a disciple. For in the end it's not the hedonists who rejoice, but the disciples - not those who seek pleasure, rather those who seek Him.rn
