Messiah gave us the parable of the two men who built houses, one on rock and the other on sand. In the parable, the sand represents everything moveable in life and that which people build their lives upon, other than the Word of God. To construct your house on sand is to build your life on opinions, the latest trends, reputation, intelligence, a career, possessions or situations. Even good and God-given things like marriage family and ministry become sand when you build your life upon them. None of these are the foundation of your life. Rather, they, themselves must be built on the foundation ground, which is God. Are you building your life on temporary things? Are you placing all the weight of your well-being on things that change? Then you're building your house on sand. Build your life on the Rock; the immovable, permanent, unchanging Word of God. For when you build your life on the Rock, when you place everything on the truth of God your joy, your well-being, your plans, your ministry, then all those things will become immovable. All these things will become solid as a rock.rn
