God's people are supposed to commemorate the miracles that He accomplished - such as Passover and the parting of the Red Sea. Then there's Chanukah to commemorate the miracle of the Maccabees and Purim commemorating the miracle of Esther. The synagogue in Nazareth was used to commemorate the power and works of God in prayers, rituals, and services. But when God Himself came into their service, they were so busy commemorating God that they didn't recognize Him. In our walks, we often do the same thing. Many believers spend the second part of their walks commemorating the first part, just going through the motions. Are you in a rut? Let God come into the rut, just like He came to the synagogue. Let Him clear away any empty rituals, and let Him meet you today as He did then. Because God is not the God of the dead but of the living, let Him speak in your life today, now, in your hearing.rn
