The Perfume Of Crushing

Some perfumes are naturally fragranced from the crushing of flowers. A little child trying to define forgiveness once said, "forgiveness is the smell a flower breathes when it's stepped on." It's written that we are to manifest the fragrance of Messiah. What is the fragrance of Messiah? It's the fragrance of grace, mercy, forgiveness, righteousness, and love. We are to manifest this fragrance. When you prepare a banquet for those who hurt you; when you bless someone who has sinned against you, instead of cursing them; when your pride or reputation is stepped upon, and instead of vengeance, you die to self, and you give them the love of God in return, that is the fragrance of Messiah. Messiah was crushed, but in that crushing, He forgave. And from that crushing comes our redemption, the sweet fragrance of Messiah. So you do the same. For what comes out of your life when you are pressed, stepped on, or crushed, that's what you are. So be beautiful as He is beautiful and manifest the sweet fragrance of Messiah.
