What It Means To Be A Talmid

Messiah's disciples were called talmidim. Talmidim means the learners, the students, or those being taught. Messiah was a Rabbi and like all the great Rabbis throughout Jewish History, He had followers around Him who listened to His every word and observed His every action in order to emulate Him. In the same way, if you call Messiah Lord, then you are one of His talmidim. He is your Rabbi, your Teacher, and you are His talmid, His student, His learning one. Therefore, your life is to be a course from which you're continually learning from your Rabbi. Messiah wants you to advance, to master yesterday's lessons so He can teach you a new lesson. Like any good teacher (and He's the best teacher), He has new lessons to give you every day. Greet each day as His talmid, His disciple, His student. Make it your aim to receive a new gem of life from the Master Teacher. Seek to always hear His voice, receive His revelation, and be instructed by His Spirit. For you have the honor of having Messiah as your Rabbi and the honor of being His talmid.rn
