In the West, we begin the New Year on January 1st. But the Biblical New Year wasn't in winter, nor was it in the fall as many think. It came in the spring Hebrew month of Nissan. Nissan means the beginning. Nissan was the month of Passover, redemption from slavery, and bondage in Egypt by the blood of the lamb on the doorpost. Nissan is also the month of Messiah's redemption. It is the month of His death and of His resurrection. The power of new years and new beginnings does not come from a calendar. It comes from the Lamb. Do you want a new beginning or the power of newness? Then come to the Lamb. Come back to the cleansing blood and mercy of the Lamb. Come back to your first Love. Come back to the cross. For there, all things are made new. Be renewed in the true renewal of God. For new days, new walks, new lives, new hearts, and even new years only come by the power of the Lamb.rn
