There is a church in Columbia called the Church of the Penitents. It was built by people who carried up to the building site two bricks for every sin they committed and confessed. It's been called the church that sin built. But sin doesn't build anything, repentance does. The people in Columbia turned their sins into repentance. That strategy is not just for building churches, but it is a project for our lives. God promises to turn our sins from scarlet to white. He is the God of Redemption. Messiah's work is the work of redemption. Let every sin in your life be turned into repentance. That is the strategy that caused Paul, the first great persecutor of the church, to live a life of devotion helping the believers. The greatest of saints are often those who realize how great a sinner they were. So take your bricks and start building His Kingdom out of a life of true repentance and grace. Repentance has much value for the Lord, for we are all building the church of the penitents.rn
