The Gideon Probabilities

In the story of Gideon, God tells Gideon that he has too many soldiers to go into battle. I can imagine Gideon thinking, "God, can we talk about your military strategy?" Traditionally speaking, you try to decrease the number of your opponent's army, not your own army. So you might look at your situation and worry because it looks overwhelming, hopeless, or the odds are against you. But remember the story of Gideon. God loves such overwhelming odds. He actually delights in going against the flow of the world and bringing victory when the odds are totally against it. God loves impossible situations, so He can prove and show Himself. So if the odds are against you or your situation seems overwhelming, it's okay. If you seem to be the least likely person to be victorious, praise God. Just believe Him, and go with Him, all out in faith. You are serving the God of the impossible, and the God of the underdog. You will have your victory. And the Lord will get all the glory just as He did on the day of the victory of Gideon.
